OontZ Angle Ultra Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review

The OontZ Angle by Cambridge sound works is a solid budget Bluetooth speaker that is now selling at Amazon. This little speaker packs quite the performance, comes in many different colors and is ultra portable.

Design and Features

The OontZ Angle despite the cheap price is a very quality built speaker. The casing is a nice rubberized plastic and the front is a metal meshed grille. The OontZ Angle has a Dimension of 5.3 x 3 x 2.7 inches and weighs a mere 8.96 ounces which is only a tad bit over half a pound and that is some serious portability. The shape of the Oontz Angle is triangular and it comes in nine different colors.

All the button controls are located in the back, you will find a volume up and down buttons and in between the volume buttons you will find the call answer/ pairing button. In the back you will also find an Aux input, a Micro USB input which is pretty incredible at this price and there is also a power button and a battery indicator light. On the bottom of the device you will find Bluetooth pairing instructions which is a bit odd. Additionally Cambridge includes a USB cable, a 3.5mm Aux cable and a nice velvet pouch so you can carry around your Angle without the worry of scuffing it up. We are not to sure how durable this little speaker is but we think it can take a few drops considering how light weight it is but it is not a rugged speaker design so don’t go swimming and rock climbing with it!

Some other features the OontZ Angle has is a great speakerphone, if you have a call your music will pause and you can answer by pressing the button on the back or your phone. The speaker utilized Bluetooth 3.0 and has a range of approximately 30 feet before loosing connection. The built in battery allows you to play music for about 10 hours at 70% volume. The OontZ Angle cannot recharge devices from its micro USB and this is very rare for speakers of this size.

Sound Quality

The Oontz is equally impressive in sound as it is in size and price. The sound loudness surpasses the jambox which is substantially more expensive and the sound quality is virtually the same as the jambox. The Oontz has very balanced sound. Impressive clarity.At max volume there was no distortion. The mid-range is smooth and the treble has some nice punch. Bass is surprisingly not bad considering the tiny size of the speaker.

The Oontz Angle is an awesome little speaker for a very modest price point. We agreed that this speaker is one of the best budget speakers available and what makes it really popular is the price point and the quality to go along. There is no reason that you will not be satisfied with this purchase. The speaker would also make a really great gift for someone considering its price point and size and most important performance.
